Frequently asked questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What training methods do you use?

We use a balanced, relationship-focused approach tailored to the individual dog in front of us. Our training focuses on building engagement, clear communication, confidence, and accountability to help dogs succeed in everyday life. Every dog is different, so training plans are adapted to suit the dog's temperament, learning style, and goals.

What types of dogs do you work with?

We work with dogs of all breeds, ages, and backgrounds. Whether you have a new puppy, an adolescent dog, or an adult dog struggling with behavioural challenges, we can create a training plan tailored to your needs.

Can you help with reactive dogs?

Yes. We regularly work with dogs that struggle with reactivity towards other dogs, people, vehicles, or environmental triggers. Our goal is to help dogs become calmer, more confident, and better able to make good decisions in challenging situations.

Do you guarantee results?

No trainer can ethically guarantee specific outcomes. Every dog is an individual, and progress depends on factors such as genetics, environment, consistency, and owner involvement. We will always provide honest expectations and a clear plan designed to help you achieve your goals.

How many sessions will my dog need?

This depends on your goals and your dog's current behaviour. Some owners achieve what they need in a small number of sessions, while others benefit from a longer-term training plan. During your consultation, we'll discuss your goals and recommend the most suitable option.

Do I need to have treats with me?

Not necessarily. While food can be a valuable training tool, we also use play, engagement, environment, and other forms of motivation depending on the individual dog.

Can my family attend the training sessions?

Absolutely. We encourage all family members who are involved in the dog's day-to-day life to attend where possible. Consistency between handlers often leads to better long-term results.

Where do training sessions take place?

Training locations depend on your goals. Sessions may take place at your home, in local parks, public spaces, or other environments that are relevant to your dog's training needs.

Do you offer puppy training?

Yes. Our Puppy Package is designed to help owners build strong foundations from the start, covering areas such as engagement, socialisation, confidence building, lead walking, toilet training, and creating good habits for life.

What age should I start training my puppy?

Training starts the moment your puppy comes home. We recommend seeking guidance as early as possible to help prevent unwanted habits from developing and to build a strong foundation from the beginning.

What is Residential Training (Board & Train)?

Our Residential Training Programme allows your dog to live and train with us for a minimum of four weeks. During this time, your dog receives daily structure, training, and real-world exposure designed to help create meaningful progress and lasting behavioural change.

Is Residential Training a quick fix?

No. Residential training can create significant progress in a relatively short period of time, but long-term success still depends on owner involvement. A major part of our programme is teaching owners how to maintain and build upon the training once their dog returns home.

Will my dog live in kennels?

No. Dogs enrolled in our Residential Training Programme live with us in a home environment and become part of our daily routine throughout their stay.

Will I receive updates during my dog's stay?

Yes. We provide regular updates so you can follow your dog's progress and see the work being completed throughout the programme.

What happens when my dog comes home from Residential Training?

At the end of the programme, we provide a detailed handover session where we explain everything your dog has learned and show you how to continue progressing once they return home. Ongoing support is also available.

What if my dog has bitten before?

Please be honest about any bite history or aggression concerns during your consultation. Many behavioural issues can be improved through training and management, but accurate information allows us to assess suitability and create the safest plan possible.
